vitamin supplements

Do you take vitamins? Which ones, and why? Do you know that most vitamins that we can get at our local stores are synthesized (read: lab created) versions of what our bodies need? These synthesized forms are often not able to be processed/broken down/absorbed by the digestive system.

If you realize that you may lack sufficient vitamin A in your diet and want to protect your night vision, do you know that both retinol and carotenoids (animal and plant sources) are important? If you are considering taking a B-complex supplement for energy and mood support, look for a vitamin made from actual food. If you take vitamin D for calcium uptake or cancer prevention, look for a supplement made with cod liver oil or cold-water fish.

If you value your health enough to spend the time and money on including vitamins in your daily routine, wouldn’t you want to reap the benefits? Check out listings for “whole food vitamins”. There are lots of good ones!
