the next chapter…
I am SO CLOSE to completing my studies with the Midwives College of Utah. It has been an amazing experience - both wonderful and terrible at the same time. Their didactic coursework is solid. I already had a bachelor’s degree from 1987, and looked to complete a master’s degree in midwifery. That is not how MCU is set up. So, in the spring of 2019 I applied to their Bachelor’s of Midwifery program. It has been five long years of more than 128 credit hours of classes and hundreds of hours of clinical experiences.
Do I know everything at this point? Absolutely not - and I never will. Life, and midwifery in particular, is a long-term journey filled with new situations and learning opportunities every day. I am, however, ready to get started providing care to healthy, low-risk women and their families during the childbearing year. I am grateful to all my mentors, instructors, colleagues, classmates and clients who have shared this space with me!
