NRP - not NPR
My husband is a huge fan of public radio. He has both listened to and supported our local station KDHX for years.
As a birth and parenting advocate, it took me a while to wrap my brain around the acronym, NRP. It is not the same as NPR - or National Public Radio. I’ve got it now. NRP stands for Neonatal Resuscitation Program. Aha!
Gratefully, I had the opportunity yesterday to attend an NRP training with Susan Wilson. She is one of the great OG midwives of our time. Most newborns will not need resuscitation of any kind. However, if a baby does need some assistance to adjust to life outside the womb, I am so thankful to develop skills that may help. Thank you, Susan!
